Department of Culture & the Arts Scholarship

The Western Australian Government, through the Department of Culture and the Arts, provides a yearly Scholarship of $3,000 to further the musical career of an instrumental music student between the age of 17 - 25 who demonstrates outstanding ability and commitment to pursue a career in music. Eligible applicants must be current members of WAYO who are either in year 12 and intend undertaking a career in music, or studying music at a tertiary institution.

Previous recipients of the scholarship include Laura Van Rijn, who furthered her studies on the flute in the UK, Marcus Perozzi studied with TaikOz in Sydney and Matthew Walker travelled to Germany for a series of lessons with renowned German trombonists.
